 Brumidi Sunshine hails from Deer Park, New York but has athletes all along the South Shore. They are celebrating their 33rd anniversary and still going strong. This organization is not only competitive at the State, Regional and National levels, winning numerous championships with both their teams and soloists, they are also extremely family oriented. They have friendships both in and out of the gym. They also have a very big recreation program for beginner twirlers. There is a place for everyone at Brumidi. This year Julia Boss won the 2009 Juvenile 2 baton National Grand Championship. Her teammates were very happy for her. CLARKETTE TWIRLERS - PORT JEFFERSON, NY

The Clarkette Twirlers, directed by Anabel Clark of Port Jefferson, got their start in 1965. With twirlers from the North shore of Suffolk County, we are still going strong. The young twirlers in the picture are our Sr Lg Dance Twirl team that competed at the 2009 Nationals in Tuscon, Arizona, placing second. Our Sr Open Parade Corps won the Highest scoring Corps and did an exhibition on finals night....Our Int Jr Sm Dt team also took first place and our AA team won that division. The Clarkettes have many teams and Corps from Beginner to Advanced and many twirlers do solo events. We are grateful to our wonderful Coaches, Kim Jarett, Allison Alvarado, Jackie Aymong, and Alyssa Nunziato. DYNAMICS - DEER PARK, NY

The Dynamics are the current 2004 State, Regional and National Juvenile
and Senior Team Champions. We were selected at Nationals, this past July,
to represent the U.S. at the International Competition in the Elite division
in August 2005. Our athletes have been accepted into the Tisch Performing
Arts at NYU and have performed at Radio City Music Hall. In 2003, we captured
five out of six National Team titles and the U.S. Jr National dance Twirl
Solo and Three Baton Solo Grand Championships titles. We have been a member
of the U.S. World team three times competing in Toronto, Canada, Saskatoon,
Canada and Barcelona, Spain. We pride ourselves not only in our accomplishments
as a competitive organization, but as a family that has relationships
well beyond the time spent in the gym. Our athletes are from Long Island
and New Jersey. Head coach, Alaine Robbins, has two Master Degrees, one
is Sport Psychology and Exercise Physiology, the other in Health and Physical
Education. Assistant Coach Kathy Butera is on the U.S.T.A. Board, the

EAST END TWIRLERS,
MATTITUCK, NY

The East End Twirlers is Suffolk County’s newest twirling organization.
In 2009, the East End Twilers were the New York State and Northeast Regional Primary Large Dance Twirl Champions. Loaded with energy and enthusiasm, this elite team delights judges at contests as well as community members at local parades and festivals.
In addition to the competition team, the East End Twirlers offer town-sponsored recreational programs in the towns of Brookhaven and Southampton and after-school programs in Southold Elementary School and Our Lady of Mercy Elemantary School.

GEMS - FARMINGVILLE, NY

These athletes hail from Farmingville, NY and are under the direction of Diane and Megan Thomas.
They have been together for about 5 years, attending many local, NY State and N.E. Regional Championships. Recently, they competed at the 2008 Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida and placed 2nd and 3rd in their divisions!
They enjoyed the experience!
They are Nicole Grimaldi, Amanda Johnson, Brittany Kidds, Rebecce Lockel, Alyssa Paprocky, Liana Simpson, and Erica Wilkison.
They also compete in solo events. There are also beginner competitive teams from tiny tots on up.

GOLDEN SHOWSTOPPERS
- MINEOLA, NY
The Golden Showstoppers, of Mineola,
have been going strong for over 25 years! They are under the directoin of Debroah Doherty and have twirlers from Albertson, East Williston, Mineola, New Hyde Park, and Williston Park. We have approximately 50 members that make up our three competitive teams and recreational classes. We compete at the local, state, regional, and national levels and perform at local events in Mineola. We appriciate all of our coaches: Keri Cooke, Michelle Krul, Cassie Olivos, and Jessica Raspen and our student coaches: Janine and Paula. We strive to teach our students the meaning of pride, dedication, and commitment. The twirlers not only work hard but have developed wonderful and lasting friendships over the years.
SPARKLERS - BRENTWOOD, NY

The Sparklers is Suffolk County's largest Twirling Organization. The
Sparklers are based in Brentwood and have 22 school districts across Suffolk
County with approximately 2000 children enrolled in their after school
program. The Sparklers have an additional 130 twirlers on their advanced
traveling teams. These twirlers compete on the Local, State, Regional
and National levels. The advanced program at this time boasts 16 Teams,
1 Corps, 1 AA Pre-Trials team and a World Trial's team. The Sparklers
have won numerous State, Regional, and National titles. In both 1995 and
1997, they represented the United States in World competition, claiming
the Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
