SUNSHINE - DEER PARK, NY

Brumidi Sunshine hails for Deer Park, New York but has athletes all along the South Shore. They are celebrating their 31st anniversary and still going strong. This organization is not only competitive at the State, Regional and National levels, winning many championships with both their teams and soloists; they are also extremely family oriented. They have many friendships both in and out of the gym. They are under the directorship of Ann Mastrocco. CLARKETTE TWIRLERS - PORT JEFFERSON, NY

The Clarkette Twirlers, directed by Anabel Clark of Port Jefferson, got their start in 1965, With twirlers from the North shore of Suffolk County, we are still going strong, 14 of our twirlers recently competed at the 2008 National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida and won the Sr Parade Corps and performance on Finals night. Our Int Jr Sm Dance Twirl team also won first place. Our Sr small Twirl team, named in the top three teams to perform on team finals night, won 2nd place, to the 1st place world team. The Clarkettes have teams from Beginner to Advanced and many twirlers do solo events. We are grateful to our wonderful Coaches, Lisa LaMonica, Kim Jarett, Allison Alvarado, and Jackie Aymong. DYNAMICS - DEER PARK, NY

The Dynamics are the current 2004 State, Regional and National Juvenile
and Senior Team Champions. We were selected at Nationals, this past July,
to represent the U.S. at the International Competition in the Elite division
in August 2005. Our athletes have been accepted into the Tisch Performing
Arts at NYU and have performed at Radio City Music Hall. In 2003, we captured
five out of six National Team titles and the U.S. Jr National dance Twirl
Solo and Three Baton Solo Grand Championships titles. We have been a member
of the U.S. World team three times competing in Toronto, Canada, Saskatoon,
Canada and Barcelona, Spain. We pride ourselves not only in our accomplishments
as a competitive organization, but as a family that has relationships
well beyond the time spent in the gym. Our athletes are from Long Island
and New Jersey. Head coach, Alaine Robbins, has two Master Degrees, one
is Sport Psychology and Exercise Physiology, the other in Health and Physical
Education. Assistant Coach Kathy Butera is on the U.S.T.A. Board, the

EAST END TWIRLERS,
MATTITUCK, NY

The East End Twirlers is Suffolk County’s newest twirling organization.
Loaded with energy and enthusiasm of both athletes and family, the East
End Twirlers is rapidly growing. Located
on the East End of Long Island, the East End Twirlers offer recreational
and after-school baton programs reaching approximately 150 children in
the towns of Southold, Riverhead, Hampton Bays and Shoreham. The
East End Twirlers competition team, consisting of approximately 30 members,
has won many State and Regional titles since they began in 1999. Individual
athletes include Jack Giordano, 2003 - 2006 Junior Men’s National
Champion and 2006 World Team Member, and Jeanine Giordano, currently twirling
for the University of Arizona. East

GEMS - FARMINGVILLE, NY

These young ladies hail from Farmingville, New York and are under the
direction of Diane and Megan Thomas. They have twirled together for about
four years, attending NY State and NE Regional Championships. They have
won and placed in several contests. Lately, they attended the 2006 Eastern
Regional convention in Maine. They enjoyed the experience and were challenged
by the new tricks they were taught. They are Nicole Grimaldi, Brittany
Kidd, Liana Simpson, Beth Charlip, Rachel Cairo, Rebecca Lockel and Nadia
Ahmed. There are also other competition teams for every level twirlers
in the GEMS organization.
GOLDEN SHOWSTOPPERS
- MINEOLA, NY
The Golden Showstoppers
are a competitive and non-competitive baton twirling organization that
has been active f or over 25 years. Formerly coached by Connie Zimmerlich
(who now resides in Scottsdale, AZ) the organization is currently directed
by Debbie Kwiatek who also coaches with Keri Cooke and Stefanie Spiller.
We are located in Mineola and currently have approximately forty members.
Over the years the girls have competed at the Local, State, Regional and
National level. We look forward to continuous success and enjoyment in

SPARKLERS - BRENTWOOD, NY

The Sparklers is Suffolk County's largest Twirling Organization. The
Sparklers are based in Brentwood and have 22 school districts across Suffolk
County with approximately 2000 children enrolled in their after school
program. The Sparklers have an additional 130 twirlers on their advanced
traveling teams. These twirlers compete on the Local, State, Regional
and National levels. The advanced program at this time boasts 16 Teams,
1 Corps, 1 AA Pre-Trials team and a World Trial's team. The Sparklers
have won numerous State, Regional, and National titles. In both 1995 and
1997, they represented the United States in World competition, claiming
the Silver and Bronze medals respectively.

The BTNI is a place where baton twirling athletes, professionals, organizational
directors and interested parties can actively participate and grow. We
are an athletic education and training organization that not only offers
baton twirling experiences, but also crosses over into any and all athletic
and artistic activities that a twirler can benefit from. We invite one
and all to come create wonderful memories while learning from experts
