WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF BATON TWIRLING!

The New York Twirling Council, which regulates all competitions and twirling events on Long Island, is made up of Coaches and Judges and interested parents from the New York area.

They meet four times a year to set the schedule of events that you see on our Web site and all events are run under the rules and regulations of the United States Twirling Assn. (USTA).

We are now preparing for our new 2008-2009 season.

Our first competition is our Holiday Contest on December 14th, that is a fun filled day, with all the New York twirling organizations putting on a special exhibition performance with a holiday theme.

The day begins with special classes for our athletes.
We just might see 'Santa' there!!!

In December and February, there will be several essential meets, giving our athletes the opportunity to learn their compulsories, plus have them evaluated.

These are followed by competitions by Brumidi Sunshine, Clarkettes, Sparklers and our Pre-State contest on May 3rd. Check our schedule of events page for dates and locations and all applications are on our web site.

Our State Chapionships will be May 16 & 17.....

This will be a busy year for our coaches, judges, and athletes. The NY Council is grateful to the parents of these hard working twirlers. Many volunteer and are very supportive of baton twirling.

Congratulations to the NY athletes and Coaches on their great successes this past July at the National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. We are now working toward the 2009 Nationals in Tucson, Arizona.
